Why not treat yourself?

With Christmas nearly upon us, why not treat yourselves to the first three in the series, or even ask a loved one to buy them as a gift. They are cheaper than perfume, and with book 4 soon to be released, get stuck in, and up to date, ready for the next installment :) What are you waiting for? Links for UK, and US, bellow :) Happy Christmas, and happy reading!

BTW, I kind of cut corners with the links :) Instead of individually posting them, which looks rather untidy, I linked it to where the three show at the top of the page. Pay no mind to the rest, just the top three :)

Interview with Sapphire

I decided to do an interview with Sapphire, the Twisted Bloodlines resident 'Maleficent'. We all know Sapphire is powerful, and seemingly cold to the core, but is she really? I thought I'd try to find out, maybe bring out her inner 'fluffy bunny', but she wasn't as forthcoming as I'd hoped. Anyway here's the interview, enjoy :)

Me: How does it feel to be seen as the bad guy?

Sapphire : Interesting choice of words. However, I prefer the solitude my reputation provides. People have such trivial matters, all of which I've no desire to listen to, or observe. As to how I feel about being 'the bad guy' as you put it, I'm completely unfazed by it.

Me : Do you feel your dark side has simmered somewhat?
Sapphire : Dark side. Hmm, I like the sound of that. Have you never heard the phrase 'don't judge a book by it's cover?' Maybe my reputation has elicited this image you talk of. Perhaps my ideals have softened somewhat lately, towards deserving people. I see myself as fair in my dealings, I've not changed myself in the slightest.

Me : Your previous consort died, did you not seek a replacement?
Sapphire : Does a female need a male to guide her through life's trials and tribulations? I do fine on my own.

Me : You stated that you're not the mothering type, and yet you seem to go out of your way, to protect your children. You admitted yourself, that their father's demise, was to benefit them, and you even wanted Callie, to come and live with you. Wouldn't you consider that as being motherly?

Sapphire : My children are my responsibility. I brought them into this world, it's only fair that I assist them when the need arises. I don't offer a shoulder to cry on, or wipe tears when they fall, neither do I embrace them, offering reassurance a child would seek from a mother who birthed them. So of course, the answer is no to that question.

Me : There's obviously a history, between you and Blake. How does his mating with Megan effect you? Do you feel jealous?

Sapphire : It has affected me in many ways, but I assure you, it's not in your particular line of thinking. Their mating has caused a huge disruption leading to the rise of Deacon. Through their actions, they have assisted it further. As for jealousy, that is just ridiculous and doesn't warrant an answer.

Me : We've met your parents, and clearly your mother doesn't seem to be a very nice person. What is your relationship like with her? And what about your father?

Sapphire : My sole relationship with my mother, is purely discussing the race's matters. As for my father, we have a somewhat relaxed relationship. We understand each other, although he is far more, what you would call 'softer' than I. Do I care for him? Yes I do. My mother? Not at all.
Me : You've been deemed to be extremely powerful. What are, if any, weaknesses that you have?
Sapphire : I have no weaknesses. This is the reason for my detachment. Once you hold endearments for another, that then becomes your weakness.

Me : There's no love lost, between the mage's and panthers, baring a few exceptions. What are your feelings on the subject? Do you hold your own hatred towards them?

Sapphire : I have no fondness for the panthers, their overload of unnecessary emotions, and jealousies, are the cause of all problems. They are a weaker race because of this, and I don't wish to carry the weak.

Me : You seem to be in close contact with Deacon. Is that by choice, or force? Or is it that, you stand to gain something?

Sapphire : My alliance with Deacon, is a necessity. Do I wish to be in such close contact? No I do not, but as they say 'keep your enemies close' and that is exactly what I intend to do.

Me : What outcome would you like to see, from the brewing war?

Sapphire : The battle of power, is of no consequence to me. While it is a minor disruption in my life, it doesn't effect me at all. I care neither way who wins. No one is capable, of getting me to bend to their will.

Me : What was your childhood like, growing up in the society?

Sapphire : Growing up in the society, is a necessity for a mage. Learning the correct use of your powers, and rules of our race, is an absolute must. There is no 'childhood' as you put it, in our race, merely young adults. My personal opinion, on rising to adult under the society, is of no consequence.

Me : Did you ever wish, you wasn't a mage?

Sapphire : Ha. Never. We are the stronger race. Why would I wish to be anything less?

Me : It is said, that you can foresee the future. Is this true, and what is the outcome of the war?

Sapphire : I do indeed, have the gift of foresight, but nothing is set in stone. Actions change the future frequently, same goes for the eventual outcome. Anything, even something minor, could disrupt it in a heartbeat.

Me : You have three children. Two of which you hold some contact with. Why is it, that you have completely shunned Bree from your life? Is it because of who her father is?

Sapphire : Bree, is the reminder of a moment of weakness for me. Her mixed heritage has darkened my bloodline, and although she is a product of my own mistake, I don't wish to be in her company. Bree has the relevant tools at hand, to take care of herself.

So there you have it, very evasive answers, although what else did you expect from her :)

Personality test subject : Sabrina

As mentioned, in honour of Sabrina's upcoming debut, here is a little fun personality test I've put together for her:

1: I'm not easily bothered by things.

  • Disagree strongly (not at all me)
  • Disagree a little
  • Agree a little
  • Agree strongly (this is very like me)

I'm usually easy going, although certain things can grind on my nerves. I'll go with, Disagree a little.

2: I make friends easily.
  • Disagree strongly (not at all me)
  • Disagree a little
  • Agree a little
  • Agree strongly (this is very like me)
I would have to say, Agree strongly on that one. I'm always the first to befriend any new person to come along.

3: I respect others.
  • Disagree strongly (not at all me)
  • Disagree a little
  • Agree a little
  • Agree strongly (this is very like me)
I think, Agree a little. I only give respect where it's due, and lately, it's kind of lacking in that department.

4: I dislike myself.
  • Disagree strongly (not at all me)
  • Disagree a little
  • Agree a little
  • Agree strongly (this is very like me)
What kind of question is that? Why would I dislike myself? Look at me! Definitely going with Disagree strongly, on that one.

5: I regularly insult others.
  • Disagree strongly (not at all me)
  • Disagree a little
  • Agree a little
  • Agree strongly (this is very like me)
Okay, tough one here. I admit to being guilty on occasion, of letting my tongue fly with insults. It's not like it's all day, every day, but probably more than I should. I'll have to say, Agree a little.

6: I have a vivid imagination.
  • Disagree strongly (not at all me)
  • Disagree a little
  • Agree a little
  • Agree strongly (this is very like me)
I do have a vivid imagination at times. Maybe just a little paranoia on my part, but it's all part of this crazy world I live in. Expect the unexpected, and all that, so I'm going with Agree a little.

7: I am the life of the part.
  • Disagree strongly (not at all me)
  • Disagree a little
  • Agree a little
  • Agree strongly (this is very like me)
The answer to this question is simple. Agree strongly, it is most definitely like me.

8: I have a sharp tongue.
  • Disagree strongly (not at all me)
  • Disagree a little
  • Agree a little
  • Agree strongly (this is very like me)
Didn't we already do this one? Oh wait, it was the insult question. Same thing really, but yes I Agree strongly on this one. Just ask the others, and they will be sure to confirm it for you.

9: I don't talk a lot.
  • Disagree strongly (not at all me)
  • Disagree a little
  • Agree a little
  • Agree strongly (this is very like me)
Ha! I'm sure the others would love for this to be true, but unfortunately, I have to Disagree strongly, definitely not me.

10: I accept people as they are.
  • Disagree strongly (not at all me)
  • Disagree a little
  • Agree a little
  • Agree strongly (this is very like me)
Silly question really. A person is what they are, and their not likely to change just for my sake, so I Agree strongly, not really an option. Besides, why try to change someone? Either you like them, or you don't.

11: I avoid philosophical discussions.
  • Disagree strongly (not at all me)
  • Disagree a little
  • Agree a little
  • Agree strongly (this is very like me)
Hell yeah! I'd rather have my teeth pulled out, than partake in any of that. Agree, very, very strongly!

12: I have a good word for everyone.
  • Disagree strongly (not at all me)
  • Disagree a little
  • Agree a little
  • Agree strongly (this is very like me)
Hmm, probably not, unless of course they earned it, but I generally like to tease. It's gonna have to be, Disagree a little.

13: I panic easily.
  • Disagree strongly (not at all me)
  • Disagree a little
  • Agree a little
  • Agree strongly (this is very like me)
Yeah, like that would happen! Disagree strongly, so not me.

14: I get back at others.
  • Disagree strongly (not at all me)
  • Disagree a little
  • Agree a little
  • Agree strongly (this is very like me)
This is definitely Agree strongly. I'm not one for turning the other cheek, and all that. You do something to me, you get it back tenfold.

15: I believe others generally have good intentions.
  • Disagree strongly (not at all me)
  • Disagree a little
  • Agree a little
  • Agree strongly (this is very like me)
I Disagree somewhat on this one. While I'm surrounded by people who are often true to this statement, I've seen too many that have no good intentions whatsoever. Disagree a little.

16: I often shirk my duties.
  • Disagree strongly (not at all me)
  • Disagree a little
  • Agree a little
  • Agree strongly (this is very like me)
Nope, never. When I'm given a task, I won't rest until it's completed. Disagree strongly, not me at all.

17: I don't like to draw attention to myself.
  • Disagree strongly (not at all me)
  • Disagree a little
  • Agree a little
  • Agree strongly (this is very like me)
So not a sentence to describe me. I love attention! Disagree very strongly.

18: I feel comfortable with myself.
  • Disagree strongly (not at all me)
  • Disagree a little
  • Agree a little
  • Agree strongly (this is very like me)
Absolutely. Some people, obsess over themselves, finding faults where there is none. Me, I love every inch, and if you don't like it, your loss. Agree to the fullest.

19: I make other people feel at ease.
  • Disagree strongly (not at all me)
  • Disagree a little
  • Agree a little
  • Agree strongly (this is very like me)
Probably not. I can be very blunt in my observations at times, and my mouth does tend to run away with itself. Generally I'm given a wide berth, unless of course, being quick witted is a personal hobby of yours, like Trey for example. Disagree a little.

20: I know how to captivate others.
  • Disagree strongly (not at all me)
  • Disagree a little
  • Agree a little
  • Agree strongly (this is very like me)
I Agree strongly on this one. If it's a male, I'll use my female charms to entice, and if it's a female, I know exactly what compliments to use. I can be very persuasive, and generally bring others around to my cause.

So there it is. The test is cored by judging 5 traits: Extraversion, Agreeableness, Conscientiousness, Neuroticism, and Openness to experience.
Sabrina, scored high in two traits:
Extraversion
Suggesting you have a lot of energy and tend to enjoy most social situations. Well this definitely describes Sabrina. She is always lively, and bubbly, as well as being the first to want to go out to battle.
Conscientiousness
This was what she scored highest on, suggesting she is a well organised, focused and methodical person. Sabrina always plans out any attack, she separates the pros and cons, making sure she is well informed of all strengths and weaknesses of the enemy before attacking.

That's a small insight into the she-wolf of the household, you'll learn more in book five, but for now that's all folks :)

Update

I've finally finished writing the fourth book in the series, yay :) It has been sent over to my publisher, and is awaiting edits, leaving me some free time. I've even managed to finish a book from my TBR pile, go and check out my other blog for the review: http://lindajacksonblog.wordpress.com/2014/10/11/book-review-4/
But back to business, I've made a start on the fifth book in the series, and as promised a while back Sabrina, gets her big debut. To honour her upcoming fame, I've put her to a personality test, just for fun of course. The test and it's results will follow this post, take a look, you never know, it may even ring true for yourselves :)

The Mage Society

Throughout the series, the Mage Society, is referred to quite a bit. So, I thought I'd give you the grand tour, of what I visualize the interior to look like :)

First, and most important, we have Violet's office. Quite a big scene, was featured in this very room. I can imagine them all standing before her, as she sits back in her chair, laying down their sentence.

Next up, we have the Mage Society hallway. It's such a grand place, I find this image quite fitting, especially with the red decor. We all know Violet's love of the colour red. (Comes in handy, to hide the bloodshed :) )

The next two images are of what I image the staircase would look like. I love winding staircases, and chandeliers :)

Up next, is the dinning room. I bet Violet, has given out a few death sentences over dinner. Still, it is a lovely setting.

Next we have the bathroom, guest room, and waiting area. Lovely images, although the guest room, is a little on the creepy side.

Obviously we have to add the kitchen, although I doubt Violet, has never even set foot in it. Very fancy :)

We have to show Violet's bedroom, the colour black, definitely suits her cold, and shriveled heart.

And last of all, the dungeons. Book three is featured heavily, in there, as well as other references throughout the series.

So there is your virtual tour of the Mage Society. I hope you enjoyed it, and be thankful, you never have to visit it in reality :)

New character introduction

Meet Kimber. She's briefly introduced at the end of book four. I can't really give away too much about her, I'll let those of you who haven't already, catch up with the first three books in the series :) I really like her character. For starters she's not a size zero. She's proud to show off her womanly curves, and doesn't care what people think. Kimber is a mage, an extremely powerful one at that. Even Luke, is careful to hold back his sarcasm in her presence. Kimber has a special talent for tracking. She can find anyone, no matter where they are, and this is where she makes her first appearance, having been enlisted to track the boys down in the fourth installment.
Kimber is not a very social person, she's full of sarcasm, and lacking in a sense of humor. Her short temper, leaves her lacking in the friends department, but that's just how she likes it. Kimber tends to prefer her own company. She finds people to be an annoyance, she much prefers to be in the company of animals, although I'm not sure if that includes the likes of panthers and wolves :)
Definitely a good ally to have, especially with the trouble brewing at the moment. Peter, seems to hold her acquaintance somewhat, although I can't say which side she will chose, if any, at the end of it. Watch out for her in the fifth installment, I'm sure you won't be disappointed :)

Halloween is on it's way

With Halloween on it's way, I thought I'd do a fun post on what the characters of Twisted Bloodlines, would choose to wear for the occasion. Take a look :)

Megan chose to live in a fairy tale for the day. Bringing her favorite childhood character, snow white to life. I suppose it's kind of relevant, she does live in what some would view as a make believe world. Here is the costume she chose:

Jase, being somewhat of the joker in the family, decided to go for a jester costume. This could be viewed in several ways. Where he sees himself as a funny guy, some just see him as a joke, and not in a good way. Here's his costume for the night:

Blake, as we know is the mean and moody type, but also a huge western fan. He chose to become an outlaw for the day, although I think he kind of is one already. Here's his chosen costume:

Beth, being the mother of the household, sees herself as the enforcer. Diffusing arguments, and restoring peace among the residents. Her chosen outfit, is a rather raunchy policewoman. I bet Peter, wouldn't mind getting handcuffed. Here's her costume:

Devon, has chosen a fictional character also. He's a huge fan of Marvel, and his favorite being Captain America. Although, I actually can see a likeness. Devon is always helping people out. Here's his costume:

Callie, having come from the human world, is somewhat of a pirate fan. Since a child, she read every book involving pirates, and decided to honor it by becoming one for a day. Here's her costume:

Paul, also a fan of comic book hero's has decided to go as Hellboy. I think this is a rather fitting look for him. He's definitely moody, and a bit of a brute. Here's his costume:

Sabrina sees herself as a bit of a soldier. Combat is definitely her thing which is why she chose this particular costume:

Luke, as we know, is somewhat of a silent character. His feet seem to glide across the ground as though barely touching. The same applies in battle, he will have you defeated before you know he's there. He chose a ninja costume, very appropriate:

Peter is rather old school. His youth was filled with characters from the black and white era. His favorite, being that of Popeye, and that's who he's chosen to go as:

Talia, is definitely an outgoing person, but also a bit of a minx. She's chosen to go dressed as a she-devil, although given Trey's recent changes, definitely a suitable match. Here's her costume:

Lastly, we have Sean. He's going through a tough time at the moment. Especially with a few self-control issues. He has revealed being a huge fan of Jack Nicholson, especially his role in the shining. He's found himself this costume, it's a little strange but he seems happy with it:

So that's the casts, chosen costumes for Halloween night. Let's hope they have a good time, because days of enjoyment, are few and far between for them.

You can either leave your details in the comment box, or email me directly at lujjacks@live.co.uk. I'll look forward to hearing from you, and happy reading :)
Details of the book are below. It's the first of six, in my paranormal thriller series. The first three are out now, with the fourth due some time next year. It follows a dark story line full of twists and turns, with quite a few steamy moments, and best of all, it's free to you lucky twenty :)

Megan has never had what most would call a normal life.

Her childhood and teen years were spent on the run with her family, hiding from a horror so great it defines their world. Friends and homes are traded at a moment's notice to escape from their worst nightmares.

Years pass, and her mother settles down with her new step-father, a kind man who does his best to protect them. Life lulls into a safe pace, and Megan finally feels as though she has control of her future for the first time in her life. But that peace is shattered with the arrival of a new family member, one that bears a striking resemblance to a savior of her past...

Confused by her deep emotional connection to him, things unravel fast. She learns that the people she lives with, even her own family, are not what they seem. Her only friend who helped her piece her life back together changes overnight, and she is left dealing with the fallout on her own...

As events unfold, Megan finds herself face to face with the horror that has haunted her since childhood. But will she be able to escape from her twisted bloodline?

Past temptations

Now that book three has been released, I'm working on the fourth instalment in the series. Without divulging too much information, I can tell you, that it is centred around the characters pasts, and the people they used to know. We all advise that the past should be just that, 'The Past.' But sometimes it does cross our paths, as it has done in this book. What if the past held someone dear to you? Someone that you couldn't live without, but then it all went wrong. Maybe they hurt you, destroyed you so badly that you never thought you'd be able to come back from it. Would you allow them back into your life after that? Or would you turn them away, showing that you are stronger than ever, and their presence no longer affects you like it used to.
All these scenarios hold similarities to the characters in book four, especially Sean. His past has returned, one that was deeply disturbing, and has made him the man he is today. It still haunts him after all these years, and when he finds himself, once again staring it in the face, what will his reaction be?
We all have a past, whether good or bad. Some like to reminisce on it, claiming it was some of the best days of their lives. Others want nothing more than to bury it as deeply as they can, never to resurface again. What if you had unknowingly upset someone from the past? Maybe you didn't even know them, but your actions had affected them so badly, that they have come seeking revenge. Jase has no doubt upset a few females in his past, treating them as you would a tissue. Does his fate hold a woman scorned?
Perhaps you unwittingly affected someone you crossed paths with, just by being kind. That one passing moment, refusing to be wiped from their memory even after all these years. Maybe they come in search of you, hoping to rekindle a romance that was never there. Paul, was a heartbreaker in his time. Despite his macho attitude, I'm sure he has performed several random acts of kindness. Let's face it, plenty of females admire him, but would they go as far as to hunt him down?
What if you did something so bad to a person, that their family came in search of you? Only it didn't turn out quite as you would have expected. Luke, I'm sure, has plenty of enemies, and despite being more than capable of dealing with them, emotion is the one thing he lacks. Or is it?
We all have a past. There is no way of changing it, but we either learn from it, despise it, or cherish it.

The buildings of Twisted Bloodlines

Quite a few buildings are mentioned in the story, Megan's home, Blake's cottage etc. I decided to give you some sort of idea, of what they look like, and how I visualize them, to aid your imagination when you come across them :)
For those of you who are new to the series, I have also done this with the characters, portraying how I see their appearance. (You'll have to scroll through the previous posts to find it)
Book one is mainly situated around three buildings. First up is Megan's house:

I think it's a pretty cool house, lot's of action occurs on the porch roof :)

The next one, is Blake's cottage :

Plenty of action occurs in this property, as well as major milestones. Quite a lot of book one, is featured around this place.

The third one for this book is Deacon's house:

A very nasty building indeed. This is one place you really don't want to visit, but unfortunately is featured through quite a lot of the series.

Lastly in book one it is Blake's parents house:

As you can see, they are not short of money, however the stay was brief, and rather unpleasant.

Book two includes a few new buildings, but again, Deacon's place is featured in the story. Starting with Peter's house, this is where things are mainly based:

Peter is also a wealthy man, and this is his families estate, and also where the cast of Twisted Bloodlines currently reside.

Luke's place:

Only a brief visit to this property, but far from uneventful, and most likely never to be returned to.

The Mage society:

Most of book two, and future books, including book three, are centered around this building. I'd like to say it's a pleasant one, but then I'd be lying :) Cool building though.

So there you have it, at least now you can put a building to a scene :)

Judged by appearence

Sean, from the cast of Twisted Bloodlines has been labelled the silent, intellectual type. While this is almost true, he has a lot more depth to him than that. Sean, hasn't really featured much in the first three books, and I'm sure that when you read book four, you will be shocked by just how unexpected he turns out to be. We already know that Sean, and his twin, Paul were, in a sense abandoned by Beth, their mother. Did this have an effect on him? I'm sure it would have. And just what did happen in his past, before he re-joined his absent family? Was it a troublesome one, or a fairly smooth past that he endured? Our pasts do tend to reflect on our futures. Especially if it wasn't a pleasant one. Major events may play a role, in shaping who we are today, good or bad.
Sean, appears to be a pretty stable guy, but is he? Don't forget, the blood that runs through his veins, is shared with that of an evil, and extremely disturbed man. Could this be hereditary? Maybe in Sean's silence, he is actually secretly plotting the whole family's demise. Being abandoned, while your other siblings are favoured over you, could do that to a person. Jealousy, is an ugly emotion. Let's not forget, beneath his human exterior lies a fearsome panther. They live for the hunt, but who would be his prey?
Sean, is a complex character, and I've enjoyed digging into his darkest secrets, and finding out just who he really is. I'll leave it to you, to decide whether you think he is good, or bad, after you've found out what lurks beneath his silent front. They do say, beware of the quiet ones, but is it the case with Sean? Or are we judging him on what we see?
Happy reading :)

Nerves

Coming up to the release of all my books, is always a nerve-wracking experience, but curses, and deception is even more so. Most of you have read the first editions of book one, and book two. This means you've waited a lot longer for the release of book three. I've had many of you, hounding me since last year, wanting to know the release date. As it stands, the release should be some time next month, but I will keep you updated as always :)
Curses and Deception is very important to me. I've worked hard on this book, and it is based on my favourite character. I also know him to be a favourite among many of my readers, which only adds to my nerves, as well as, the introduction of new characters, and your reaction to them. I really hope you enjoy it, as much as I do :) I can't wait until I have the finished book in my hands, and place it next to the others on my mantelpiece :)

Love triangles

We've all heard of love triangles, and the heartbreak that goes with them, and the cast of Twisted Bloodlines are no exception.

Megan, Blake, and Trey, are caught up in their own love triangle. It's an extremely difficult situation indeed. Especially when the trio live together, and have to see each other every day. I have to admit, Blake handles it quite well. Yes, he has lost it, on several occasions, but who wouldn't expect some sort of reaction, after having to share your mate with a third party. Megan, doesn't exactly make things easier. Her constant attempts to save Trey, despite risking her own safety, would give anyone mixed signals, regardless of her insistence that her feelings are purely platonic towards him.

I know Trey, has helped her through some tough times, before she even met Blake. Megan, even admits that she did have strong feelings for Trey, in the past. Did they just fade, after time? It does happen, I suppose. Maybe it is just gratitude, and that Megan, feels she owes him for all that he's done for her.

Perhaps she does still feel for him, but since it's not reciprocated, Megan, decided that Blake, was a safer option for her heart. Trey, isn't exactly a straight forward person, after all. Despite his initial rejection of her advances, Trey is now displaying a strong interest in her. He claims to be in love, but is this just because she has committed to Blake? Trey, is the sort of person to chase after forbidden things. He enjoys to walk on the wild side, and he's definitely doing that, by going up against Blake.

And what of Blake? Does he harbour a secret grudge against Megan? She would be the one to blame in all of this. Perhaps he feels, Megan enjoys the attention of two males fighting for her affections.
What must this be doing to his ego? A handsome tough guy like him, practically unbeatable on the battlefield, and the female he is destined to be with, holds a bond to another man. Not exactly healthy relationship material, is it? Although it could be quite the opposite. Maybe Blake, is confident where Megan's, loyalties lie. They do share a bond, and all emotions are supposed to be revealed. However, they can be blocked. Megan, herself has done this on one occasion, and Blake, is a master at it.

Either way, a most troublesome situation to be in. I guess, you'll just have to follow the series, to see how things pan out :)

The blurb

So now you've seen the cover to Curses and Deception, here is the blurb :)

After the dramatic rescue of Megan, Trey wakes up to find himself held prisoner, trapped in a dreary dungeon with the beast inside of him bound. Being away from the chaos of his everyday life, he has a chance to get his head on straight and figure out how to tame the wolf. Or so he thought. His dungeon cellmate has captured his attention, and the beast inside is far from happy about it.
With a battle of wills raging inside, Trey and his cellmate attempt to escape the dungeon, but it’s only the first hurdle. With time ticking against them, they make their way through the maze ahead, desperate to escape. Will Trey get to explore his feelings towards her?

Or will the beast scare her off for good?

What do the cast of Twisted Bloodlines fear?

After revealing on my other blog, the fear I have of the sea, I decided to ask the cast of Twisted Bloodlines, what fears they may have. I admit, I did expect the guys to tough it up, and say 'I fear nothing', but most of them owned up to their fears. Read on to find out what they revealed :)

Megan : 'I have a big fear of spiders. I know they are tiny, and I'm huge in comparison, but they make my skin crawl.'
Yes Megan, that is a very odd fear to have, considering your nature, but hey, I'm not a fan of spiders myself :)

Jase : 'I'm man enough to admit it. I have a fear of vomiting. When those chunks get stuck in your throat...... Ugh, I'm feeling sick just talking about it!'
Okay Jase, that admission has made me very queasy.

Peter : 'I have a fear of being confined in tight spaces. I guess it's the animal in me, he doesn't like feeling caged'
I suppose that's a suitable fear for you to have Peter, not very manly though.

Sean : 'I'm not sure it's a fear as such, more of a dislike. I hate to be touched without permission. I know some people like to embrace in a welcome, or farewell, but I'm not one of those people'
Um okay Sean, no touching. You're rather an uptight individual.

Paul : 'I can't stand dentists. All that digging around in my mouth, and the drilling setting me on edge, I hate it! As for the fear, I think maybe that should apply to them. If I'm in pain, I tend to lash out'
Well, most of us can't stand the dentist Paul, but given your size, I'd probably fear you as a patient, myself.

Devon : 'I guess you could say, I have a fear of water. I never bothered to learn to swim, and all those waves tend to freak me out'
Very brave of you to admit that Devon, I can relate, although I do know how to swim, it's the sea I fear.

Callie : 'I have a huge fear of flying. The only way, you could get me to board a plane, would be by sedation. I can't even watch a movie with a plane involved'
A common fear Callie, even I'm a little nervous about flying.

Blake : 'The only thing I fear is failure. I have to succeed in all areas, failure isn't in my vocabulary'
Mmm, a very manly fear to admit Blake, and one which I kind of expected from you.

Talia : 'I have a fear of clowns. They are completely creepy. Everything about them is scary, even their shoes'
That was not a fear I expected to hear from a tough girl like you Talia, they are kind of creepy though.

Luke : 'The only thing I fear, is commitment, although I don't know why, because I will never allow it to happen'
And that, I totally expected from you Luke.

Beth : 'I have a major fear of needles, although in my current state, I seem to be getting jabbed with them constantly. I have to squeeze my eyes shut, and pray for it to be over quickly'
Another common fear, although Beth, you're human after all.

Trey : 'Sorry, I don't have a fear of anything. I dislike many things, but a fear? Nothing springs to mind'
Well, I couldn't have every male own up to their fears, I suppose :)

There you have it, even paranormal folk have common fears.

Sean and Paul's thoughts on being cast aside from their family

I've invited Paul and Sean for a little chat about how life is, returning to their family.
First of all, what was life like growing up without your mother?

Paul : Life was great, since we were only young at the time, we soon forgot about her and focused on the more important things in life.

Me : That sounds kind of bitter Paul, is it true that you were the one to raise Sean?

Sean : Paul guided me through our younger years and into our teens. We weren't without a guardian, but he was pretty absent most of the time, leaving us to fend for ourselves. We were far from stupid, despite our young age, we adapted. Paul had a little more awareness than I, so it was clear, he should take on the role of decision maker. He didn't raise me, we're the same age.

Me : That's terrible, leaving you two to fend for yourselves. Was there no-one else who could help you?

Paul : We didn't need help. There was always plenty of food, and anything else we needed. His absence taught us a valuable lesson on surviving the big bad world. Besides, we turned out okay.

Me : Did it effect you at all, growing up without a female presence in your life?

Paul : I had plenty of females in my life, sometimes even up to three a night.

Me : Um, I actually meant, did the absence of a mother figure, effect you? Did it effect your relationships with women?

Paul : Clearly not.

Me : But did you have trouble committing to a relationship? Maybe that is why you choose to have one night stands.

Paul : No, that isn't it at all. As you're aware, we have a destined mate. In the meantime, any female is only temporary and there is no sense in getting attached.

Me : Well okay then, now that you're mated Paul, has it affected the relationship? Do you choose to distance yourself from Amara, in fear of her deserting you as your mother did?

Paul : She can't, once you're mated, it's for life. Now can we move on from my love life?

Me : Sorry, how about you Sean? I see you've expressed an interest in Trey. Do you have any female interest at all?

Sean : No, no females.

Me : So you're gay then? Do you think that may be linked to your mother's absence?

Sean : I highly doubt that, and I'd rather not talk about my sexual relations.

Me : Do you resent your mother for abandoning you?

Paul : No, that would require effort.

Sean : Paul! No we don't resent her, she felt that it was for the best. We did receive letters through the years explaining her remorse, and I suppose being on the constant move with four children, would have been difficult.

Paul : Besides, I think I'd have preferred to remain settled in one place, hiding really isn't my thing.

Me : What about Megan and Jase? Do you resent the fact that they were chosen to remain with you're mother instead of you?

Paul : Not at all, if anything, I feel sorry for them. They've had no life, no teenage experiences or friends. Why would I have preferred to trade places?

Me : Okay, how do you feel, being called upon after all these years to protect a sister you've never met?

Paul : I admit I was a little ticked off by it. Our presence has never been sought before that, even when Peter joined the equation and they became more settled.

Sean : I tend to agree. I mean once we were able to shift, we could protect ourselves. As for protecting Megan, I don't begrudge that.

Paul : I'd like to get a shot at my father any day, I have my own score to settle.

Me : I'm sure everyone would, Okay last question. How is your relationship with your mother now?

Paul : Non- existent. I converse to be civil, but other than that, I'm really not after anything more than an acquaintance.

Me : So you have no intention of building any sort of relationship with the woman who birthed you?

Paul : Not in the slightest.

Sean : We are not very affectionate people, neither do we rely on anyone. The time for a mother/son relationship has come and gone. It's not that we're bitter towards her, It's simply because we have trouble building a relationship with a complete stranger. I know she feels awkward and unsure around us, so we choose to relieve that pressure and keep our distance.

Me : That sounds very sad.

Sean : Not really. We grew up without her, so there was never a bond. It's like having a random stranger in the street, tell you they are your mother. You wouldn't instantly love them, and yearn for their company would you?

Me : I suppose not. Well thank you for coming, and sparing me the time in your busy schedule.

Sean : You're welcome.

Paul : Can we go now?

Well, an interesting interview with the boys, although I'm not convinced by their 'not bothered' attitude, but who am I to argue it. (Well I did try, but It's not advisable to anger a wild animal) :)
